| Tim Barr has written a drifter of a play – living moment-by-moment, unanchored, emotionally homeless, raggedy and unrefined, come-what-may . . . and, in a way, free.
There are some nice moments in this four-character, rambling play (with some music) about modern-day railriders. Lee Morris, looking like a young Christopher Lloyd, is quite good as H, named for the letter that terrifies him. And Cherilynn Brooks is a punk-rocker hellcat as young Handbag Betty, who has fallen far from the grace of her wealthy family. The 90-minute play could have been better accomplished as a one-act, and there are far too many awkward moments – in the writing and acting – to justify a $12 ticket charge. |
